Amsterdam UMC EEG lab
Dynamic Brain Network Analysis in Dementia

Who are we?

Our team consists of clinical neurophysiologists, neurologists, and neuroscientists who are dedicated to researching the neurophysiology of dementia.

The EEG lab has 20+ years of experience in advanced EEG/MEG analysis and is embedded in the prestigious Alzheimer Center of the Amsterdam UMC.

We specialise in resting-state EEG and MEG, functional network analysis, brain network modelling, non-invasive stimulation and treatment monitoring in clinical trials.

"There are billions of neurons in our brains, but what are neurons? Just cells. The brain has no knowledge until connections are made between neurons. All that we know, all that we are, comes from the way our neurons are connected."

ADVANCED EEG/MEG ANALYSIS

We utilize electroencephalography (EEG), a reliable and cost-effective clinical tool that captures the rapid (millisecond) changes in local and distributed neuronal activity.

Magnetoencephalography (MEG), EEG's advanced counterpart, provides data with even higher spatiotemporal resolution, and unlocks deeper regions like the hippocampus.

We develop EEG/MEG-based diagnostic and prognostic markers, and their value for augmenting our understanding of information processing in the brain.
